Cookies and cream

Have you missed us?

The awesome thing about living in Utah is that we are so close to family that we get to see most everyone almost every week. The problem with that is that we keep up on this blog partly for our own family record and partly for our family so far away from us that we want to keep them in the know about our boys. Half of our motivation is all but gone. I promise to try harder.

Two months ago when we first got here I sat down with Michelle and we wrote out every thing we already had planned. Every weekend through July was suddenly and completely full. We're just barely finishing it up now. It'll be fun to find something to do on empty weekends.

Wanna hear something stupid and a bit embarrassing? Our neighbor is the grounds keeper at Westminster College. His yard looks like he's a professional grounds keeper; ours is lucky to be mowed every three weeks. Like bad. At some point I decided to not mow the weeds in the planter boxes because they are starting to look like shrubs.

This weekend we went to Bear Lake--the boys were very scared to go to a place where they were certain Bears would be swimming. We spent the day swimming eating and riding four wheelers with the Coltharps, Kristensens and Grandma Ruth. It was wonderful.

My sister Laura got married last week in the Salt Lake Temple. I was very proud of her and very sad at the same time. For as large as my family is out here and as good of people as they all are, it surprised me a bit to see so few of my family inside the temple. Everybody has their excuse and their reason. We love each other and we are good people but I just feel like we are not living up to where we could be. Don't take it wrong, I'm not judging and regardless I'm probably going to have to explain this to people for months to come. Or they will just be angry and not tell me they're offended for a year or two. But that's not the intent of this observation. I suppose that intent is hard to put in words.

Somethings are important. Some other things really are important.

Regardless, like I said I am very happy for and proud of Laura. She is young but I'm surprised at some of her perspectives and reasoning. We'll see soon how marriage and the first couple years work out for her. I really think they will.

I don't know if we've mentioned it here before but we apparently don't have to change the name of out blog. Baby Boy Bradbury it'll be from at least a few more years.

Michelle and I went to the doc the other day and on full display the boy put the goods on show for the ultrasound.

Brigham and Calvin were asked by their aunt KK what they were going to name their new brother and the consensus was "Cookie". I suppose that it's not any worse than "Sunshine" which I wanted to name our first girl. So Cookie Bradbury it is.

Lesson learned: don't allow a 4 year old to name a child.

I had fully intended to give you a video or a picture of Cookie but after 1.5 hours of trying to cut a video or even get a screenshot of his penis--all to no avail. I give...you'll have to take my word for it, he's a boy.

Life is good. We are loving this situation and Michelle's parents will return from China in a week. Like I said, life is good.
