Here is a picture of my cute parents and my handsome oldest nephew, Brady, on the busy streets of Beijing. My sister and her family recently visited my parents in China and had a great time. I think my parents are looking wonderful--life must be agreeing with them right now.
But more importantly, today was Brady's mission farewell at church in Idaho. He turns 19 this week and enters the MTC (Missionary Training Center) later this month on his way to serve the people of Albuquerque, NM. I really feel that the people of New Mexico are so fortunate to have such an amazing young man on his way to teach them the good news of the gospel of Christ. He will be a capable and effective missionary because he is awesome and because he is becoming such a wonderful young man.
I remember when Brady was born. I thought I was the coolest kid in the 8th grade because I was the only one of my friends to be an aunt yet. I remember when all of my nieces and nephews were born, but Brady stands out because he was the first. I can remember exactly where I was sitting in Mr. Storin's science class, bragging to all of my friends that my sister had a baby and I was now an aunt.
My boys went to church today in Bagley boy sweaters (meaning hand me downs from my sister and her never ending line up of five boys). I remember Logan and Mason wearing these same sweaters at a family party shortly after I got home from China exactly 10 years ago. Has time really flown that fast!?!?!
I am grateful for good examples and role models for my boys--a good father, awesome older cousins, strong and stalwart grandfathers, hard-working uncles. It is so important to me to find good people out there for my boys to look up to and try to resemble--nice that I don't have to look too far. So for the next few years, instead of posters on the wall of sports stars or super heros, my boys will have pictures of their role model: Elder Bagley. Thanks Brady!!!
(and Benson soon to follow).
