This is Happiness

Last night I had a check ride. This is kind of like an annual practical exam of how good a pilot I am. You go fly for 4 hours and then come back and the evaluator plays 'stump the dummy' for a few more. I didn't feel as prepared as I should have and really probably wasn't but all in all it went good enough and I passed. Things have been very stressful for the last several weeks leading up to yesterday.

So last night I came home around 4am climbed into bed and told Michelle I had passed. In the morning she snuck out of bed and let me sleep until 11. Around then I heard the door slide open as she came in with a bagel from Panera covered in cream cheese and fresh tomatoes from our garden and two of the blondest little boys on God green earth in tow. We all sat down on the bed and had a celebratory breakfast. Brig took one of the bagels and tried to lick all the cream cheese off in one bite. He ended up with a touch on his tongue and a 1 inch wide strip from his nose to the bottom of his chin, like a baby gotee. We had a pillow fight or three, played tackle football, tickled mommy till she cried and at the very end - just before Brig's nap time and Cal's hungry time - we were all laying on our bed together just content, with smiles.

This is happiness.

So sweet. I can't wait to create memories like this with Micah when he gets a little bigger. Infants are magical but not so interactive, ya know...

Does this mean we don't get a blog about the blueberry incident? I hope not :)
