Happy Easter, Hobbes!

We know our Easter wish is a little belated, but what can we say. We were a little distracted on Easter Sunday--meaning we were stuck in the hospital for an extra five hours waiting for the doc to pause his Easter celebrations long enough to come and spend 30 seconds with me before telling us to go home. (Side note to anyone wanting this advice--think twice before having a baby on a holiday weekend. This is the second time I have done it--and while it is nice because the hospital is not busy, it also stinks because the hospital is not busy.)

I was really excited about Easter Sunday this year for a variety of reasons, but partly because I found some really cute clothes for Brig and a great tie for Adam. Heck, I even found a cute Easter dress for myself--at the maternity store. Oh well. I guess I can save it for next time--not that I am making any announcements, mom, so stop the worries.

I cannot think of a better way to think about the meaning of Easter and the importance that Jesus plays in my life than holding my new little boy and realizing just how new and fresh from heaven he is. We did not get to go to church on Easter, but Adam, Calvin and I had some amazing and tender spiritual moments in that hospital room. Now Brigham, on the other hand, was able to attend Easter mass, footie pajamas and all, thanks to some friends. There is a first time for many things, right?!?!

And with that holiday wish, we also wanted to introduce you to the newest of the new members of our family--Hobbes. And where would a good Calvin be without his tiger, right? (oh this little man's dad has been planning this one for a long time.)

Brig likes Hobbes, too. Probably better than he likes his own little brother right now. Brig likes to wrestle with Hobbes and bite his ears and drag him around by the tail ... all of the things I am thinking Brig would like to do to his little brother without getting in trouble. Hobbes even went for a few stroller rides with Brig before Calvin was ready to venture out of doors.

And even though Brig is a little hesitant of his red faced screaming brother and even though this picture is fuzzy, we could not help but share with you the first kiss--best friends in the making.
