The new kid finally has a name. The birth certificate lady stopped in three times a day everyday to no avail. So on Saturday she just said, “Call me on Monday, I’ve given up.” We had four or five names for this young man that we knocked around furiously. We wrote the names down in every possible order. We said them in funny accents and came up with every possible nickname that could be associated with each one. We wrote them backwords, we stopped people in the hallways and did impromptu surveys on which names they liked best. Then, when all resources were thoroughly exhausted, we named him after his grandpas.
Let me introduce to you again,
Calvin is strong little man. Though he looks remarkably like his brother, there are a few subtle differences: He doesn’t like to look around as much. As you may recall Brig had those huge baby eyes.
Brigham still doesn’t know what to think of his new found friend. He tries to give him his binky and when the little guy doesn't react graciously enough Brig tries to force the issue. He is a sweet big brother but he still only has that 10 second attention span. Today I took Brig to the hardware store, just for fun, and it then served him well. Who really wants to spend more than 10 seconds in the plumbing section anyway?
If Calvin is warm, he sleeps for hours. By hours I mean 2.5 then it is time for food. The perfect temperature as we have found - is a blanket and a lap. So as I type this, the little man is laying crossways on my legs, slumbering in pass-out land. What a happy place.
If you’ll notice in a couple of the pictures, there is a glow around Cals backside. A little over one year with Brig will teach a mother quickly that the best teaching tool isn’t talking to a child or beating them with a stick. Neither works all of the time, but an atomic butt spanking does the trick every time. One whippin like that and like I said - this kid hardly makes a peep. Anymore.
Nah, the glow is just a light. Cals billy rubin (sp) count is pretty high, like a 15 or so and the doctor thought it best that he sit on some lights for a day or two until his body starts taking care of it. I wanted to Photoshop a sweet picture of him sailing in a pimped out low ridin car down the Las Vegas Strip and entitle this blog “Glow-Rider” but I thought better of it when Michelle kept looking at me while painting her nails with that atomic glow stuff.
A note on the pictures. The last one of me talking on the phone with Calvin is for Emily. The other picture of note is of Brig. Like I said Cal and Brig look remarkably alike, even for brothers. So I threw a newborn picture of Brigham in the mix, I'll give you a nickel if you can figure out which one it is.

Yay Calvin! Well I'm glad after your long brave journey you came up with a name. COngrats again!!
Congratulations Michelle, Adam, and especially Brig on becoming a new big brother! I am so excited for the Bradbury family. I am so thankful that everyone seems to be doing well. Best wishes,
Amber Guymon
I love his name.
So Brig likes Calvin's binkies, Abbie is still taking Dayton's binkies and bottles. Especially when she needs a little extra atttention. How is being a parent of two? It sounds like everything is well. We love you.
There is not going to be Hobbs!
