The middle of January took us to Utah (oh the pink mountains) on a surprise trip--a trip that gave our little family the opportunity to spend a few more days and pay a final tribute to Adam's Grandma B. She was such a special woman, and we feel very blessed to have known her in this life. I think very few days go by where Adam does not have a song or a saying that he learned from Grandma B. And I have thoroughly enjoyed my recent opportunities to swap stories and glean from her years of experience, particularly how to survive life as the wife of an United States Air Force pilot. Oh the wisdom one gains with years of experiences and just living life. We miss her already.
It still touches our little family that one of the last things grandma talked about was Brigham. She awakened a little on Wednesday evening and asked Stormy, her daughter, where the baby was? Stormy was a little confused about what baby grandma was asking about, "Your baby? My baby? Joe's baby? What baby?" Grandma then replied, "The baby that looks like Adam."
Although it is so hard to lose those you love in this life, we feel happy that Grandma B is now with her husband, parents, and two of her children. We know that she is very happy where she is right now, but we do miss her in the interim. I am sure Grandma would have a song about all of this--which is part of her legacy that will always bring a smile to the faces of all those who knew and loved her.
Thanks Grandma B.
Brigham was able to spend some great time with his Utah family--grandparents, cousins, aunts, uncles, and lots of puppies. I really think between the desire to be big like his older cousins and the desire to touch all the puppies who ran away at the sight or sound of him, Brig started really walking on our trip. He is still a little wobbly and not sure what to do with his hands yet, but he is walking.
What a big boy.
