Gone Baby Gone; My Love is Gone…

I’ll give you a nickel if you can tell me the name of the song in the subject line.

My baby is gone. So is my son. I am here in Texas all alone. Chelle’s cousin Jeff got married last Thursday and so in response to the overwhelming requests of “his peeps” Brig and his entourage (his mother and a pet stuffed worm whom we still haven’t named) climbed on a plane and took off for the mountains of Utah and Idaho. Lucky dogs.

Rumor is they have been selling out dinner parties all along the western slope of the Rockies. First at Grandma Susie’s where Brig met his great-aunt Sherrol, his great-cousin Chris and great-cousin Casi. And I do mean great. They played and danced and changed diapers. Man talk about a great time.

Ops Center’s current forty on the pair is that they ran north to chase mooses, er meeces er a moose or two up in Teddy Roosevelt’s playground – Yellowstone National Park. For the Fourth they went up to the park and listened to a youth symphony play cool music and eat some berry ice cream. Yogi Bear said no fires were going to be allowed so that sort of limited the use of fire works this year.

Brig has a new older brother. I guess he was hanging out with the Bagley Boyz in Rexburg and one of the five took particular interest in the little man. It was of course Truman. You have to understand that Tru is the youngest of all the boys and yet in many ways I see him as being the most independent – which is difficult when you are the shortest straw in the bunch. It’s a constant battle as any family baby will tell you. So as the story was related to me, Tru sat down with Brig and the conversation went something like this (don’t mind that it was a bit one sided):

“So Brigham I like you. You’re alright. I did some checking and it seems that you don’t have an older brother because you are the oldest in your family. Now I on the other hand don’t have a younger brother and am the youngest and most repressed of all. So I think that we ought to do something like this: I will be your older brother and you get to be my younger brother. Just sit there and stare at me if you think this is a good idea. Awesome. This is going to work out really well, I can already tell.”

Brig is eating it up being with all of these cool kids and getting to be the center of mass attention. So is my girlfriend. I hope they’re doing well and thoroughly enjoying themselves. We talk on the phone but it’s just not the same. I miss my family; we’re little and we’re still trying to figure out how to do all this that we are supposed to do and it’s working.

If not from a lamented distance.

I love you both very much. dADDIE.

Hi Bradburys,

What darling pictures. I have visited them many, many times and they are as cute as the first time I opened the file.

Hey, A BIG Thank You to all three of you for being such a great family. I love you very much. I appreciated your invitation to spend time held at Ransom in Island Park. Whatever led to my capture and ransomness I hope will happen again. Michelle, your parents home is perfect. I am still amazed at the beautiful woodwork. They are wonderful people and I am so grateful to share you with them.

Have a good week and Briggie, you take care of Mommy while DAddie is away, OK? Have some fun and watch for a little package in the mail. Love, Gramma Susie
