Adam and Michelle invited me to write a bit for the blog, so here you go... My name is “officially” Grandma Susie and I just got home (to Utah) after an incredible 2 weeks in Texas. Brig and I have become pretty good friends and he really loves me, even though I am not very cute anymore. We did lots of cool things together, like bounce on the double high air mattress, listen to the noisy birds in their trees, and take walks in his super fast black and red running stroller—though Grandma wouldn’t run and Brig wasn’t sure why because Mommy always runs with him. We cleaned the new house and scraped the ceilings so everything could be repainted. I had a review course in working with a baby on one hip while washing the wall with the other hand. I will admit I did come home with a wicked sore shoulder but it wasn’t Briggie’s fault; I just felt so good and had so much fun working on the house, I couldn’t stop. I think even Adam had a hard time keeping up! Ha-Ha – in my dreams.

Brig and I went shopping at Lowe’s together. We even got lost when his Mom and Dad ditched us for almost an hour. Brig said they were in the back of the store makin’ out, but I don’t think so—they were too tired. Anyway, we had a great time together. We shopped for neat stuff like paint brushes and just the right screw to fix a chair (so we would have at least one chair until the furniture arrives from Corpus Christi).

We ate barbeque (some Adam cooked, some from Rosa’s little Texan BBQ joint). We all got terribly dirty and sore but what great fun we had together. The house is lovely and the family is doing well. I am so glad that I had the chance to share this wonderful experience with them! Come on down, you all. They have plenty of room—well they will when it gets finished. Abilene is a neat little town, just the right size in my estimation. The air is clean, the drivers are pretty courteous (compared to Utah drivers, they are great), and the company is incredible. Happy trails. Love, Grandma Susie
