Your Mom Yo.

This is an old story.  It happened last spring when we borrowed KK's 5th wheel and went down to Moab for the weekend.  The 514th was having a squadron party down there so we went along to hike rocks, do jeep tours and generally just take a chance to enjoy this marvelous world we live in.

So coincidence of coincidence one of the guys in the squadron I fly with is married to a resident neo-natalogist who just happens to work closely with KK down in Salt Lake.  Her name is Brook and his is Pat.

It was a fun trip and apparently something amazing happened there that I didn't even know about.

Fast forward a week or two later to an X-ray room in the Intermountain Medical Center where KK, Brook and about 8 other medical professionals were all observing some charts.  KK being the consummate leader that she is was directing the patient description and telling everyone in the room how they were going to proceed with the care for this infant when she said something to the effect of, "...and as we observe the light area on this chart we can see that this patient has an esophageal invert...yo."

Brook then kind of hijacked the conversation and in front of everyone said, "You know Kristin last week I met your brother and he's... wellhe's nothing like you--he's highly intelligent."

Stop and just soak that in for a second. Maybe two.  It's that good.

"I dumb it down for you Brook" was her retort.

Greatest words ever said. I may sneak into the graveyard and scratch that on KK's headstone.  "He's nothing like you--he's highly intelligent."

Brook tried to go back on her statement saying it didn't come out the way she intended.  But that's not important.  What is important is how I intend it in telling this story…over and over and over again.  I guess Brook had observed how I interacted with Brigham and was impressed with our communication skills and then had inadvertently compared that to how Kristin briefed a room full of professionals, yo.

But we really know what she meant.  I am highly intelligent and most importantly, more intelligent that my sister.  Greatest quote ever.

I feel like I should correct MANY falsehoods in the post; however as the consummate leader of nearly...well everything....I will bow out and agree yes Brook did make that misguided statement...my retort was childish and not needed as I "dumb it down" for well...nearly everyone. That being said...I will tattoo "yo" next to my tramp stamp :)
