Picture Perfect

So our once thriving blog has suffered much neglect and decay since our move to Utah.  We used to blog more when living in Texas and seeing our family only once or twice a year.  Now we see family all of the time and don't need to constantly update them on the comings and goings of our fair haired trio of trouble--aka "the blondies."  I also used to blog more often when Adam was off seeing the world with the Air Force--he spent almost half of our four years in Texas away from the family.  With his current job/assignment here in UT, he has been away from us only a few times, and never more than a week at a time.  Thirdly, our once busy camera has gathered dust as we usually take pictures with our phones these days.  I love the convenience and user-friendliness of my phone, but never down load my pictures to the computer and therefore never have current pictures to put on our blog.

But, since I have determined that we still have two or three friends who check our blog occasionally, and it is a great way, and currently the only way, that we record our family history, we are determined to continue to post funny and ridiculous stories (Adam) and cute pictures of boys (Michelle) and hope that we can still keep in touch, even if it is only with our future selves.

In yearly preparation for Christmas cards, we have gotten in the habit of taking family pictures each fall.    We have taken our own pictures a few times and had wonderful friends and family take them other years.  This year, we decided to try a new adventure and have our pictures taken in a local studio with props and cool backdrops and only 45 minutes to get some great pics.

Brigham did a great job and was a big boy listener--way to go BGB.  Mackay was showing off for the photographer and not listening well and pretty crazy.  David Taft was doing fine while being held by his dad in the family pictures but wanted nothing to do with being on his own and pitched some pretty awesome fits just in time for his photo shoot.  Adam did well tolerating our photographer and her "Utah" clothes on rivalry game day. And me--the mom--I just tried to hold it all together without messing up my hair or my makeup or my resolve to smile through it all.

So amid the few really nice pictures where we are all smiling and looking pretty and proper and perfect, we have heaps and memories and funny family stories.  Oh Davie--so sorry.

Great pictures. I am so glad you're still blogging. The stories make me laugh and get to know your family better.
I think your blog was among the first two or three blogs I started reading, so don't give up now! =)

I, too, love reading your blog... but can totally understand the less frequent posts. I wonder if I'll be able to keep it up if we ever get close to family.

The pictures are awesome!! You, Michelle, look stunning! And I can't believe how big those boys have gotten! Has it really been that long since we've seen them?!?!?
