David O. Mckay-Dee hospital

So a couple of weeks ago baby Davie had developed a pretty solid cough and wasn't sleeping well, Michelle takes him into the base clinic. The NP said it's just a virus and sends him home. So we bring him back to the clinic on Friday and he's still coughing, still clogged up and not doing well. The kid's O2 levels were quite low. That freaked the NP out so they decided to send him to the big hospital. But they couldn't release him to us so we put the little guy into his carseat, strapped an oxygen max onto his tiny face and then wheeled him on a gurney out to an ambulance where he rode to McKay Dee Hospital with his mom.

He went to the ER for a while and they agreed that he should be admitted for a few days due to RSV. Imagine having a really nasty cold and being very congested but not being strong enough to blow your nose or cough out your lungs. It's pretty tough for a 4 month old.

So Meemah and Buhpa immediately took the older boys to Idaho. KK, Grandma Susie and Aaron were indispensable with their medical advise. On Saturday morning over 35 friends from work and new neighbors as well as Joe and Nancy and KK came over to help us move into a new house, while Jan and Brett came down and spent Monday cleaning our old house so we could be out easily. It really was quite a community show and I thank everyone of them.

I think the thing that most impressed me was aunt Kellie. I didn't even bother to call her because we were a bit busy with the boy. I did call Susan and KK for medical advise and then Susie sent out a text to everyone advising what was going on. I didn't ask, I didn't beg, I didn't have to explain the severity nor did I have to send out a hand written invitation, she just dropped everything and came all the way from Orem--right then. I was walking in from the parking lot after grabbing a bag for Michelle and I get a text from her. Then she pulls up beside me in her car. Kellie was not the only person to come but she was the first and she came with the purest intent of anyone there. She dropped everything because she loved that boy and she loved us. And I just wanted to say how grateful I was for that. It's good to be home near family again.

I took a few days off work and Michelle and I just took care of Davie. He's better now. We are moved into our new house and things are starting to settle down a bit. That really was a unique opportunity. With three kids our attention is divided rather heavily and a good baby like Davie usually doesn't get all the attention he deserves. I'll forever be grateful for that chance to just sit in the hospital with my wife and new son and get to know them both a bit better.

Wow. What an outpouring of love. Glad you are home with family surrounding you so you could have that support during such a crazy time. We were in the hospital during our Spring Break visit to UT this month too. And I know how invaluable the family can be. :)
