First, today we released a hawk back into the wild. Kellie, my mom and I went for a drive up Alpine canyon and let go a really cool American Kestral Hawk that we removed from the airfield yesterday. We have to get them away from the airplanes so when we catch them, we drive them far away and let them go wild from there. Really humane, really cool and it's fun to see everyone's faces when we let the bird go.
Second, speaking of my little sister Kellie, check out her quilting store online. She earned a pretty big deal grant for coming up with an awesome business idea at UVU and has put together quite the business. If you like quilting, have ever made a quilt with your grandma (or had your grandma trick you into making one for yourself under the guise of your helping make one for your uncle) you will really get a kick out of this. She sells precut fabric and kits which ridiculously reduce the amount of time and effort required to select a bunch of fabric, a pattern, the prep work and such. It's a pretty sweet idea a really cool business model and so far doing super well. Your clicking on her link will help her build street cred with google and have he name pop up more on searches like Hometown Quilt Kit or just Quilt Kit. Her quilt shoppe is called Material-Lane.
Two link for the two subjects:
