A few weeks ago we headed to San Antonio for a family fun weekend courtesy of the Air Force. We spent Saturday at Sea World and had a fun time watching a few shows and riding a few rides. The highlight for all of us was at dolphin feeding pen. The boys were splashing the water and watching the dolphins swim by when a huge dolphin came up, perched on the ledge right in front of the boys, and waited for them to scratch his belly--just like a dog. Thanks Anheuser Busch.
The next day we decided to treat the boys and ourselves to lunch at the top of the "space needle" in the revolving restaurant. That one lunch used up about half of our monthly eating out budget but it was a once in a lifetime treat, and pretty yummy food as well.
It looks like we will be leaving Texas sometime in the next 6 months or so. This was probably our last weekend fling in San Antonio and so it was bittersweet. We have been flinging in San Antonio since we first moved to Del Rio in 2005 for pilot training. When we were in Del Rio and Corpus Christi, we headed to the big city quite often for shopping, eating, the temple, and fun. Our trips to San Antone have been less frequent from Abilene but we have still made it down there a few times a year. I have to admit that I will miss out Texas times and all of the fun our growing family has had in this big old state. That being said, I am sure we will be back someday, but for this season in our lives, we will always remember the Alamo.
