First Day of Preschool 2010

Michelle woke up early this morning and got the boys moving. She graciously let me sleep in as I'm night flying today. She baked muffins, made fresh fruit smoothies and put a PBS kids show on the tele for the boys. They ran around not watching the show, ate two nibbles from several muffins (though not a single full fledged bite) and adamantly refused to take a sip of their smoothies.

And even with all of that it was still hard to drop them off for their first day of school.

Calvin fit in like a fish, we almost wished he would have put up more of a fight. Brig couldn't figure out why his parents wouldn't leave and why I was taking pictures. Michelle and I were both very proud of the boys because this is a big step and they took it without reservation. The way I hope they continue through out all their lives.

Calvin,s teachers names are Ms. Christie and Ms. Kristin and they are the same teachers who taught Brig last year in the Teddy Bear class. Ms. Kristin asked several times whether he should be called Calvin or Mackay and there was a kind of awkward silent moment where everybody stared at everybody else. She finally just said, "well then we'll just call him Calvin."

BGB in now in the Ducks class and he loves to quack to show you what it's like to be a duck. His teacher's names are Ms. Sheri and Ms. Jana. One is an RN and the other a school teacher though both are doing this preschool gig for a while while their kids are going to school there. I think they'll both be very happy and do well.

Any way, the pictures:

Wow...what big, brave, blonde, boisterous, beautiful boys. That is a proud moment for you that they were so confident heading off to school. I'd say you are doing something right. I love these pictures.

What a big day for two amazing little (don't tell them I said that) boys!

Watching them learn is one of the great joys of being a parent!
