Square Knots

Adam is at scout camp this weekend, tasking me to post a whole ton of pictures on the blog--from as far back as a month ago when family was visiting for the blessing and air show (see last post). I sat down tonight to begin working on the slideshows but both boys have woken up once and I am keeping my ears tuned for the next cry. I do have to say that life with two kids is taking some getting used to, especially when dad is off riding horses and tying knots in the woods.

Cute story about each boy. Adam flew on Thursday and Friday so as Brigham and I said our meal time and evening prayers, we made mention of dad being safe in flight. When I would say this, Brig would make the sign for airplane and move his hand through the air while making a buzzing noise. Saturday morning Adam left bright and early for scout camp, and since then every mention of Adam in a prayer causes Brig to make the airplane sign. For a boy who is crazy obsessed with airplanes, Brig's dad is one uber-cool pilot.

Calvin has started smiling and laughing quite a bit lately. There are a few faces which I can pull which guarantee me some handsome smiles, and even an occasional baby chuckle. It is more a courtesy laugh than anything, but considering I have used up all of my courtesy laughs with his dad and brother, I will take what I can get.

I now play the piano at church for the Primary kids (didn't know that I played the piano? It's okay, because I don't). Since Adam was not there to take the little man, Cal was passed amongst the eager baby holders while I was playing. Every once in a while I would look up and see this super cute baby and think, "That is one dang cute kid. Oh yeah, that's my little man." (I am still trying to get used to the idea that I have two kids.)

Hope all is well for all of you. Thanks for reading about our boys.

They are both adorable!!! Cute stories too, I just love the funny things our kids do. Who doesn't though - I'm not special ;) I can't believe how big Brig has gotten since he last hung in our window. Time goes by so fast! Oh, and I have to say, I am so glad that at least for now the square knot, dyer-lint fire-starting, canoe flipping days of Scouts are over for us. Peter was either at work, at Church, or camping these last four years. I'm sure now that we have a son though, those days will quickly return and Peter's a scout freak anyway. I think our girls have been to more cubs cout events than some cub scouts!!!

It is so fun to read your blog. I love the pics of the your growing family. You have to adorable little boys. I hope you are surviving alone. Ian hasn't been gone, yet since we've had Elizabeth too. I'm sure it will be busy when it's just me.
