Mmmmmmmm-mwwah

Happy Memorial Day Weekend. I'm sitting here with my little boy, my big little boy and was just thinking of a few of the things you should know about him but don't since most of you can't be here. He's 17 months old and an adorable young man with the happiest and kindest personality that I think I've ever seen. Everyday I understand a little more why Christ commanded us to be like children. There is no guile; unless of course you back over his froggie swimming rendering it useless except as a choking hazard--then you'll know guile.

Brig has a few fixations. These are the couple of things which grab his attention and don't let go until there is some significant satisfaction. For instance, bottle caps. Please don't try to put the lid back on a bottle alone. He'd love to show you how well it can be done. And he does a remarkably good job for such little fingers and developing motor skills. Another fixation are keys. When I come home from work in the afternoon, I will usually come through the door, he'll get a little shy then come running. Not with arms open squawking "Daa Daa" or something similar; no it's always arms open squawking, "Keees, keees." He'll take my keys from me and play with them while I get my fill of hugging and kissing him. His Grandma Connie even sent out him a giant ziplock back of nothing but keys which she had been using in her first grade class for the last 20 years. They are now strewn about our house and garage.

When Brig gives you a kiss it is adorable. Hugs and kisses involve neither arms nor lips. When asking him for a hug and a kiss he will lean in to you with his forehead only and when he makes contact with any part of you, or the chair you're sitting in, he'll begin to make the sweetest sound. I'll see if I can spell this phonetically. "Mmmmmmmmmm-mwwah" The whole thing takes about 1.5 to 2.7 seconds. These kisses are relatively difficult to garner, so if you happen to pick one up you'll want to remember it for your whole life.

A quick update on the house. We worked crazy hard yesterday and got a ton of stuff done. The desk in the red room, or guest bedroom, is so close to being done we can taste it. We had to find a place to put our new 24" IMac (this is my first post on it.) We paneled and trimmed the bathroom and today I finish working on the shower in there. It'll be nice to have another room completely done. Today I'm going to put some interior doors up, hopefully. Thank goodness for Memorial Day sales at Lowes.

We hope you are well.

Brig sounds adorable!! We love to read your updates about your kids. You'll have to show some before and after pics of your house, or at least after - we'd love to see!!

Can't wait to see updated pics of the house. It's seems like a pain at the time, but is so rewarding to know that you built it/fixed it with your own two hands. Keep the updates coming... I don't always leave comments, but I check in on you guys all the time!
