So there are a whole ton of really cool things about BGB that we wish all of you out there could experience and laugh at. Unfortunately we are far away and our video camera is still in storage. So I’ll describe some of the cooler things.
Brig is getting big and bubbly. Literally bubbly; he found out last month that he has a slobber gland. He hasn’t yet figured out how to harness its power of spitwads, third floor bombings or really cool tricks like in the movie Big Daddy where the kid drools almost down to the ground and then quickly sucks it all back in. Don’t knock it, it got that kid a staring role in an Adam Sandler movie.
His current favorite blanket is an old one. It’s a beautiful yellow quilt that Great Grandma Ruth made for Brighams dad way back when he was small enough to fit in it. This blanket is the perfect size for Brig right now; it’s just stretchy enough and yet firm enough to keep him swaddled and it is worn in so well that just picking him up and wrapping it softly around him calms the fiercest storms and makes the most anxious boys sleepy. It’s a good blankie to have around.
Our new favorite has been the noises. When he sneezes it is a three stage maneuver. The sneeze begins with a high-pitched squeelee scream that is both building and abrupt. Kind of like “WhaaAAH…” he’s kind of warning us that it’s coming. In comparison to his handsome Daddy’s sneezes it may not displace massive amounts of air but for a little guy, it is plenty.
Then come the actual sneezes. Note that they are plural. He always sneezes twice. 'There shall always be two. Let not there be more than two, neither less. And if there shalt be four thou shalt recount for behold there in reality were only two. Thereunto, if thou countess only one thou shalt be patient and wait for the second for behold thou knowest that it cometh soon. Thus be it so.' “chew-chew!!” Kind of reminds me of his auntie Sherrol.
Finally after all that work up baby Golden needs to wind down. Most things in life can be referenced back to Star Wars and this is no exception. You know that scene where Luke and Han Solo are trying to make the leap to hyper space in Episode four and just as they are about to go, the hyper drive malfunctions and make a descending, “Maooooooo” sound as it shuts down? Brig’s really kind of like that, maybe a bit more with the mouth closed in a mmmauuu sound, but really close. It makes you feel comfortable just listening to him.
Brigham is getting really good at standing up. He loves belly time. Though not on his own belly, he’s not a big fan of that. By belly time I am referring to him standing on my belly while I hold the little guy standing up so he can see the big world out there. We have a door hanging bouncee seat that we need to find in storage because right now he would love it.
In case you haven’t heard, we finally made it to
Sorry, I know that you don’t come here to read about my thoughts; pictures are nicer and easier to look at but at least the stories are about the kid. We hope you are all well, wherever you are. Heavenly Father loves you, and wants you too be happy. Seek after Him and you will be.
