The cage is complete--we did it--and on Brig's one month birthday we set it up in his room. Adam drew the designs himself and did the bulk of the work. I do have to admit that, big belly and all, I did my fair share. Woodworking is a hobby that Adam introduced me to right after we got married and we enjoy working on projects together--usually (teacher and student are both getting better when it comes to patience). This crib was a labor of love for both of us. It is great to have such an awesome final product--I mean, we like it. Much thanks to buddy Brock and granny Susie for helping out as well.
Enjoy the pictures and much love to you all.
Brig is the son of a pilot and I know his first word will probably be "plane." Instead of trying to fight against the inevitable, we decided to enjoy it.
We had the Bradbury crest laser engraved on the headboard. It looks awesome.
Adam is proud of his handcut dovetails on each of the four posts. To make it even more sturdy, he added a walnut plug as seen above. That was the beginning to adding walnut accents to the maple frame.
I really like to tops of the posts too. That feature just makes the whole crib--good job, Brock.
Good jobs all around.
