Here we are passing 33 weeks—the birth of our boy approaching ever closer. Right now it seems like 7 little weeks are nothing at all, but I am sure these last few will drag on and on and on. I have been around enough crazed and frustrated women, women who have gotten to the point of taking castor oil, sitting on a drier, eating spicy food, jumping on a trampoline, etc., to know that although the end is fast approaching, it can also be very elusive. Let’s just call these women “Janice B.” … no no, “J. Bagley.”
In the meantime, Adam and I are keeping busy trying to continue some old and begin some new family traditions with baby boy (we are still without a first name for our son).
Carrying on the Family Traditions:
BYU Football: Golden has watched several BYU games this year and is hopefully getting used to the sound of Adam screaming and shouting and cheering for joy—it has been a really good season so far. I am sure that Golden is already learning some, if not all of the words to the fight song. Go Cougs!
Singing: By now, I am sure Golden is getting used to both his mother and father singing or humming much of the time. I am usually singing church hymns—because I can remember all of the words—or Christmas songs. Adam, on the other hand, is exposing Golden to all of the goodness of Johnny Cash, the Dead Milkmen, Ren and Stimpy and the like. We go for a nice balance in our child’s musical education.
Wood Shop: Adam has been working hard on our awesome baby crib, which he designed and is building himself. Golden and I have been helping him the past little while and I think he must like it in the woodshop because every time we go, he is just moving and shaking. The “baby cage,” as Adam calls it, is looking great. We will include some pictures soon.
Car rides, dancing, wrestling, walking, going to church, taking naps, reading children’s books, etc. The list could go on and on and on.
Just like anyone, we are excited to have a family to continue old traditions and create new ones. We are excited to leave our legacy and hope that it is a Golden one.
